I have researched and found that many people have solved the weak WiFi problem by using USB WiFi adapters. The Frontier router is provided for free and immediately noticed a significant decrease (one bar) of the Wi-Fi signal sent to my PC by the router located in the living room. This adapter allowed me to connect through 5 GHz (the previous internal card had only 2.4 GHz) and when I went back to test my test, I regularly receive more than 200 MB.
I was paying for a service of 300Mb and I only got around 60-80mbs. We bought a new house and the office was far away from the router modem, which forced me to use its internal WiFi card.
